CUPW has ratified a new collective agreement for members of the TForce Vancouver Island and BC Interior bargaining unit in the Pacific Region. The agreement is for four years and will expire on February 28, 2026.
Some of the highlights Include:
• Updating language to include gender neutral language;
• Minimum Expectancy Benchmark and Wage increases of 5.25% in 2022, 2.25% in 2023,2.25% in 2024, and 2.25% in 2025;
• A safety clothing allowance of $300/year to be paid each April;
• A one-time lump sum payment of $1,000 to offset the current cost of fuel.
We were also successful in stopping the company from introducing a Master Contractor model and requiring Owner Operators to Incorporate.
We’d like to thank the Negotiating Committee for their work during this round of bargaining and thank the membership for your patience during this process. We still have some work to do to ensure the company respects the language in the collective agreement, but we are pleased with the outcome of this round of bargaining.
In Solidarity,
