It is with mixed emotions that we announce the retirement of Irene Kwan, one of the Administrative Assistants who works in the CUPW regional office. We are very sad to lose Irene, but so happy for her to retire, and be able to spend time with her partner, children and grandchildren.
Irene has worked for the Pacific regional office for 45 years! She has been the continuity in the office as elected folks come and go. She has helped so many new Officers and Union Representatives when they first came into the office, and assisted in any way she could. I know she was a tremendous help to me when I was first elected, and I’m sure my ability to do my job was strengthened by her guidance and knowledge.
Once we are able to come together again as a group, we will have a presentation for Irene and delegates will be able to say their goodbyes and give their thanks for her outstanding commitment to our organization. In the meantime please join all of us at the regional office in wishing her a very happy and healthy retirement!
Irene, you will be missed!
In Solidarity,
Coleen Jones
